Domestic Dance (A + B)

2015

Statement:

Domestic Dance A and B address the final stages of an ending relationship, focusing on  physical movement and place to better understand the energy between two persons in this situation. By taking movements from an everyday domestic activity (in this case vaccuming) Wall brings attention to a universal yet often unconsidered 'dance'. She uses this repetitive motion in two seperate contexts to reflect on the quiet repetitive moments that aide in a dying relationship. In this case the performance is active while the viewer is passive.
